2019 is going to be HUGE! Our March Newsletter

Happy March! It’s already shaping up to be a huge year for local, state, and national work on Paid Family Leave. In January, Governor Gavin Newsom announced he would make enacting six months of paid baby bonding leave for new parents a priority for the state. The Governor’s office will work with a task force on the next steps and Coalition members are looking forward to collaborating and supporting this historic expansion. Continue reading

Senate Finance Committee Holds Hearing on Paid Family Leave In a historic step in the movement for a national family leave program, the US Senate Finance Subcommittee on Social Security, Pensions, and Family Policy held a hearing on Paid Family Leave on July 11th.  The hearing included testimony by Senator Kristen Gillibrand (D-NY) and Vicki Shabo of the National Partnership for Women and Families in support of the FAMILY Act.  Continue reading
